Driving Theory Test
To attain a full UK drivers license you must pass the driving theory test. The test consists of two main parts: multiple choice and hazard perception. You must pass both parts to pass overall. You will need to pass the theory test before you take the practical test. However, you do not need to have completed your theory test to begin taking driving lessons. We recommend you begin studying for your theory test as soon as possible. This will help you have a better understanding of the Highway Code and allow you to put into practice the lessons learned through your practical lessons.
You will have to pass the driving theory test (sometimes called the DSA theory test or the DVLA theory test) before you can even book your practical test. So long as you take the time to study and understand the form of the questions and desired answers, passing the test should be relatively easy. For some, studying the DSA driving guide will be enough. Others may prefer to do more revision. Taking a few practice tests is highly recommended, and everyone should read through the list of official questions (from which the actual test questions must be chosen) at least once.
